Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $70,000-$80,000, depending on qualifications and location. Job Description

This Executive Chef role will be based at Indiana University, where you will lead our residential dining program as the key culinary expert. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing menus, managing budgeting and food costing, ensuring client and customer satisfaction, and fostering employee training and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines, adhering to standardized recipes and presentation standards.
  2. Complete and implement daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
  3. Supervise and mentor chefs, cooks, and other team members on food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, and sanitation practices.
  4. Ensure the implementation of culinary standards, including recipe compliance and food quality.
  5. Manage inventory of food and non-food supplies, maintaining compliance with established guidelines while ensuring necessary products are available when needed.
  6. Follow federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department procedures, as evidenced through audits conducted by local health departments and third-party entities.
  7. Forecast annual food and labor costs and monitor actual financial results.
  8. Foster strong client relationships to align our programs with their objectives, driving satisfaction and retention.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of dining service operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Executive Chef with a minimum of five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience. The ideal candidate must have a deep understanding of high-volume, hands-on foodservice operations, excellent computer skills, and ServSafe certification. A.S. degree or equivalent experience is required.
