Cardiac Sonographer

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer to join our cardiology team at MaineGeneral Health. If you have a passion for delivering exceptional patient care and want to be part of a dynamic healthcare team, we encourage you to apply.
Job Description:Key Responsibilities:
- Review patient history and physician's orders to ensure accurate and timely care.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure their understanding and cooperation.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice, monitoring patient condition continually and reporting changes as necessary.
- Prepare equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, and implementing safety standards and quality control procedures.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures, analyzing results and identifying issues with image quality, taking appropriate action to resolve these issues.
Requirements:
- Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within one year from graduation from a cardiac ultrasound program.
- One or more years of experience in a hospital setting, preferably in a cardiac ultrasound role.
- Solid computer skills, including prior use of electronic medical records (EMRs).
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
