Rhode Island School of Design is seeking a highly skilled Store Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the RISD Store. This individual will play a vital role in ensuring the department's daily operations run smoothly and contribute to the overall success of the store.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Team Management: Provide daily support, direction, and guidance to retail team members to ensure compliance with all standards of operation. Ensure effective delegation of tasks by aligning responsibilities and cross-training team members to enhance their abilities.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist in the administrative tasks associated with the procurement process by creating purchase orders, managing order quantities, and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
- Training and Development: Support initial and ongoing training for the team, including initiating training plans, providing clear communication and feedback, and assisting with onboarding to develop a high-performing team.
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels to ensure stock availability and promptly address any vendor challenges.
- Customer Experience: Create appealing point-of-sale displays to drive sales, enhance the customer experience, and contribute to overall user experience by assisting with product setup across point-of-sale and e-commerce platforms.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with PCI standards for system usage.
- Education: An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, along with a minimum of 3 years of hospitality experience and at least 1 year of managerial experience, is preferred.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate, coach, and develop a team. Deliver exceptional customer service, demonstrating professionalism and respect even under pressure while addressing challenging situations with team members and customers.
- Operational Skills: Ability to address operational challenges, resolve conflicts, make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment, and administer and ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures.
- Technical Skills: Experience with computers and proficiency in Office and Google Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Art and Design Background: Art and design background preferred with knowledge of art supply application.
- Computer Experience: Computer experience is preferred.
- Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license.
