Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at CommonSpirit. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinics, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, and assist with procedures as needed.
  • Administer medications and perform vital sign measurements, accurately documenting patient data.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Manage medical records, charts, and electronic medical records (EMRs) with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Work collaboratively with insurance providers and pharmacies to obtain authorizations for patient medication, including refills.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program or military training equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Medical terminology, familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding procedures, and pharmacology knowledge.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six months of experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant.
  • Certification through a private agency approved by the Medical Board of California, such as the American Association of Medical Assistants.
  • Familiarity with electronic practice management systems.
