Job Summary

Astra Hotel Seattle is seeking a highly skilled Banquet Captain to join our team. As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional food and beverage service to our clients, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure courteous, friendly, and efficient food and beverage service to clients
  • Direct necessary arrangements prior to and during banquet events to ensure events are set up accordingly
  • Train and supervise banquet staff to ensure exceptional service
  • Anticipate and respond to guests' needs, ensuring prompt and courteous service
  • Make all necessary arrangements prior to function, including reviewing function orders and changes, preparing linen requisitions, and checking beverage arrangements
  • Responsible for reviewing the change sheet for each event and holding pre-function meetings to discuss menu, service details, and section assignments
  • Inspect servers, assign server stations, and check room readiness, including heat and light
  • Communicate with the kitchen on counts and any changes for each event prior to dish up
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas
  • Responsible for writing a captain's report for each event
Requirements
  • 2 years of restaurant experience
  • Bachelor's degree or 2 years equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • MAST and TiPS certification required
