Job Summary

As an Applications Engineer at Ahaus Tool and Engineering, you will play a crucial role in developing design concepts, estimating project costs, and collaborating with customers to deliver innovative solutions. Your expertise in automation, workholding, and machine design will enable you to drive project success and contribute to the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review customer requests, project specifications, and supporting documentation to understand their needs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and develop concepts for automation and workholding solutions.
  • Evaluate the simplicity of solutions and suggest ways to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with customers on design reviews and make changes as necessary.
  • Work with vendors to secure material costs and lead times.
  • Prepare detailed written proposals and update CRM software throughout the estimating and proposal process.
  • Communicate with Sales Engineers and customers to clarify critical needs and address discrepancies.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
  • Four years or more of education and/or experience in the automation and special machine/workholding industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and project management skills.
  • Adept in using Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.

Working Conditions
Typical office environment with light exposure to manufacturing. Some travel to customer facilities is necessary.
