General Lab Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced General Lab Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our General Lab, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of lab technicians and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures.
  • Train staff on lab procedures and safety protocols.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
  • Certification through ASCP is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with specific experience in the general lab.
  • 1 year of supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of lab operations, including regulatory requirements (FDA, AABB, CAP).
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory information systems (LIS) and other relevant software.
