We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team in the Department of Physiology at the University of Pennsylvania.

Job Summary:

The Laboratory Technician will assist with experiments related to the role of alternative splicing in innate immunity and viral inhibition. This is an entry-level position that requires a strong foundation in molecular biology and a willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies.

Responsibilities:
  • Carry out RT-PCR and cell-based assays on alternative splicing
  • Prepare RNA from cell samples
  • Perform routine cell culture work
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree and 0-1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong foundation in molecular biology and cell culture techniques
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
