Job Summary:

As an Automation Development Scientist at Promega, you will play a key role in supporting the development and optimization of automated methods. You will assist senior scientific resources with research projects, aid in the development of new chemistries, perform automation experimentation, analyze and report data, and troubleshoot automation instrumentation and chemistries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support ongoing efforts of Instrumentation Scientists to develop new chemistries, new automated processes, and engineering designs.
  • Act as a technical resource for the verification and validation of existing automated processes and chemistries.
  • Work with automated instrumentation to develop new processes.
  • Understand and comply with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.
  • Demonstrate inclusion through your own words and actions and be accountable for a safe workspace. Act with kindness, curiosity and respect for others.
  • Embracing and being open to incorporating Promega's 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in daily work.
  • Understand and comply with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in biological, chemical, or engineering sciences.
  • Laboratory coursework in biological, chemical or engineering sciences.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to effectively work on many priorities at one time, which change frequently.
  • Ability to interact productively with team members, take direction, and follow written directions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced coursework in biological, chemical or engineering sciences.
  • Experience working in an industry or academic laboratory environment.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work around automated equipment.
  • Ability to work in an office environment utilizing a computer workstation.
  • Ability to work in a lab environment with chemical and biological materials
