Job Summary: The Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a physician scientist to advance patient care through research collaborations. The successful candidate will engage in active collaborative research, build clinical and/or translational research in the division, and obtain/maintain independent extramural funding. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will join a world-class institution that encourages, values, and supports interdisciplinary basic, clinical, and population health research. Duties include direct patient care, including ambulatory, inpatient, and consult service (25-30%); inpatient call coverage; protected time (70-75%) to develop a research or teaching program and engage in scholarly activities; teaching medical students, residents, and fellows within the context of your clinical practice; and proactively enhancing and supporting efforts regarding diversity in clinical trial participants. The successful candidate will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members. Clinical research is conducted in the UWCCC by 18 multi-disciplinary Disease Oriented Teams and is supported by the UWCCC Clinical Research Central Office on the main campus. Over 170 UWCCC investigators regularly enroll patients to therapeutic intervention trials at our UWCCC. For full information, follow the application link.
