Job Summary:

The Financial Manager position at Cantex Continuing Care Network is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records, maintaining compliance with financial system policies and procedures, and providing overall financial support to the facility's business operations. This role may involve supervising clerical tasks and requires a high level of organizational and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including resident trust fund accounts and patient census data.
  • Prepare and deliver bank deposits, and reconcile petty cash accounts.
  • Perform private pay collections, including sending collection letters and making phone calls.
  • Bill Medicaid agencies and track related forms, documents, and payments.
  • Ensure compliance with Cantex policies and procedures, including Financial Management Systems.
  • Submit monthly occupancy report statistics and monitor credit balances.
  • Communicate with Medicaid Eligibility workers and assist with Notice of Medicare Non-Coverage forms.
  • May assist patients in filing private insurance claims.
  • Participate in weekly calls to discuss Medicaid pending accounts and private pay collections.
  • Participate in monthly Financial Quality Assurance Committee Meetings.


Requirements:

  • A high school diploma is required, a college degree or equivalent advanced courses are preferred.
  • Prior skilled nursing facility billing experience, including Texas Medicaid, is required.
  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems and standard software applications.
  • Prior experience in record keeping and office management.
  • Previous supervisory experience may be helpful.
