Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Education Assistant to join our team at Comprehensive Community Action. In this role, you will assist the lead teacher in providing high-quality educational services to preschool children and their families.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of research-based curricula, individualizing instruction for children, and maintaining strict health and safety protocols. As a key member of our team, you will also be expected to participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead teacher in supervising a classroom of up to 20 preschool children or 8 infant and toddlers.
  • Maintain strict health and safety protocols and policies, ensuring a safe environment for all children.
  • Be aware of and comply with state performance standards, RIELDS, and RIDE requirements.
  • Assist in implementing a research-based curriculum with fidelity and individualize instruction for children using assessment data and IEP/IFSP plans.
  • Support effective social/emotional learning using Incredible Years and Conscious Discipline approaches.
  • Complete 2 home visits and 2 parent/teacher conferences per year, promoting positive relationships with families.
  • Attend all agency, full staff, and education meetings, staying informed about program developments and best practices.
  • Participate in in-service training and professional development opportunities, maintaining an Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP).
  • Ensure the safety of all children in your care, actively supervising them at all times.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • CDA or RI State Teacher Assistant Certificate required.
  • AA in Early Childhood preferred, with early childhood experience and bilingual skills highly desirable.
  • Ability to pass Bureau of Criminal Investigation and fingerprinting requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of liability insurance.
  • CPR/First Aid Certificate upon hire or within 90 days.
  • Annual Flu shot.
Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
