About the Role

The Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC) is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Professional to join our Mobile Response Team (MRT), which provides crisis behavioral health services to individuals in need. As a member of the MRT, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of clients, while promoting their awareness of behavioral health and other community service options.

The MRT operates 24/7, responding to crisis calls from Health through Housing (HtH) facilities and Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) sites across King County. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide in-the-moment crisis intervention, time-limited behavioral health case management, and care coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to crisis calls and complete risk assessments to ensure client safety
  • Develop and implement safety plans in collaboration with clients and housing staff
  • Coordinate care with case managers, housing staff, and other support services to establish linkage to resources for program participants
  • Provide follow-up services aimed at coordinating care and establishing linkage to services
  • Complete all data collection and documentation required by the project and DESC
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in social work, psychology, or another relevant behavioral science
  • Eligibility for a Licensed AAC credential or any other superseding credential that meets RCW 71.05.020 requirements
  • Ability to drive an agency or personal vehicle to conduct agency-related business, with a valid Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Experience working with individuals with mental illness who are difficult to engage and may resist services
  • Familiarity with recovery principles, crisis intervention, and stabilization, as well as integrated treatment of co-occurring disorders
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and staff from diverse backgrounds
