We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Exceptional Children Assistant at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. As an integral part of our educational team, you will be assisting teachers in helping EC students achieve their academic goals and providing support in accessing general education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in instructing individual or groups of EC students in various subjects as directed.
- Collect and analyze data to track student progress on Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- Collaborate with teachers to plan and implement instructional strategies that meet the needs of EC students.
- Operate and maintain classroom and student equipment and materials to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
- Provide supervision during various school activities, including recess and extracurricular events.
- Alert teachers to any student issues or special information that may impact the student's educational experience.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting EC students.
- Assist with various classroom tasks, including record keeping and data entry.
- Provide physical assistance to students as needed, ensuring their safety and well-being.
