Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Graphic Designer to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for creating visual concepts that convey the goals and values of our agency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and design graphic materials to meet agency communication needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine design requirements and plan a course of action.
  • Educate customers on technical aspects of the design process.
  • Present mockups, proofs, and samples to requesters for approval.
  • Consult with departmental staff members on effective design solutions.
  • Maintain organized design files for future use.
  • Report design and production progress to the area supervisor.
  • Operate Adobe Creative Cloud software applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Develop and prepare print-ready artwork for external production.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent, plus one year of training in a full-time accredited program with an emphasis in graphic design or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of full-time work experience in some phase of graphic design.
  • Working knowledge of TXDPS, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills to meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
  • Ability to construct and deliver clear, concise, and professional presentations to various audiences.

The employee must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and exercise visual acuity. The employee must also be able to transfer weights of thirty (30) pounds anticipated for this position.
