Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior UX/UI Designer (Systems Analyst V) to join our team at the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB). As a key member of our Design, Innovation, and Marketing Department, you will be responsible for leading the development of user-centered design solutions for our web-based applications and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
  • Develop user needs, user interface, and key workflow requirements for TxGIO applications and projects
  • Create conceptual frameworks, storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes to illustrate use cases and user interface functionality
  • Produce and maintain detailed design and technical documentation, including visuals, presentations, processes, diagrams, and findings
  • Collaborate with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure design solutions meet project requirements
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, UX/UI Design, User Experience Design, Product Design, Web Design, Application Design, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, or a related field
  • Five years of relevant work experience in user experience design
  • Relevant education and experience can be substituted for each other on a year-for-year basis
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ten years of relevant work experience in user experience design
  • Two years of relevant work experience in the public sector
  • Two years of experience working with GIS or other data
  • Three years of experience doing graphic design work
