Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Technician

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Transdev. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Install equipment, engines, hoses, batteries, tires, wheels/brakes, HVAC, wiring, etc., or program to meet specifications.
  • Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure equipment is working properly.
  • Service, repair, adjust, and test machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles.
  • Inspect equipment, structures, etc., of materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex vehicle and equipment issues.
  • Must be able to teach and mentor junior technicians.
  • Superior mechanical skills and mentoring capabilities.
  • CDL license with air brakes and a passenger endorsement.
  • 609 and 608 air conditioning certifications.
  • At least four (4) H, T, or EV series ASE certifications.

  • 10% of work is accomplished indoors in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
  • 90% of work is accomplished outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions.
  • Frequently stand and walk; ability to sit for up to three hours; walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; ability to lift or handle material weighing up to 50 to 75 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch; and corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication.
