Ascend Nonprofit Solutions is seeking a dedicated Accounting Associate to support our Shared Services Finance team. This entry-level position focuses on essential financial tasks including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting assistance. The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, a strong desire to learn, and a collaborative spirit to assist both colleagues and clients.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Accounting Associate will undertake various financial duties for participating nonprofit organizations, while also providing support to Staff Accountants and Controllers. The role is designed for recent graduates or new professionals in the accounting field, and we are open to considering college seniors for part-time opportunities with a pathway to full-time employment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Accounts Payable: Manage accounts payable records for multiple nonprofit entities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments and reconciliations.
  • Accounts Receivable: Input and verify deposits and transactions, adhering to established procedures for financial processing.
  • General Accounting: Assist in preparing monthly journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and generating reports as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting or relevant experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate a solid work ethic and maintain accurate records.
