About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Permanent Estates and Trust Paralegal to join our dynamic team at Jobot. This role involves providing comprehensive support to our attorneys and high net worth clients in the area of estate and trust administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research on various legal matters related to estates and trusts.
  • Prepare and file legal documents electronically, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Notarize documents as required, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Assist in the preparation of estate tax returns and other related documents, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Manage personal trust accounts and estate planning documents, maintaining up-to-date records.
  • Liaise with high net worth clients, providing them with comprehensive support and assistance, and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to ensure all client needs are met and all legal procedures are followed, maintaining open communication.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in estate law and tax regulations, staying current with industry developments.
  • Coordinate and manage deadlines, ensuring all legal documents are submitted on time, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, maintaining files, and managing correspondence, ensuring seamless communication.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as an Estates and Trust Paralegal, with a strong understanding of estate law, estate planning, estate tax, and living wills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field, with a focus on estate law and administration.
  • Certified Paralegal (CP) or Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) preferred, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of estate law, estate planning, estate tax, and living wills, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in e-filing and notarizing documents, with experience in managing electronic files and records.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex information and provide sound recommendations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle high net worth clients with professionalism and discretion, maintaining confidentiality and respect.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research software, with experience in using these tools to manage documents and records.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment, with a focus on collaboration and open communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
