Patient Access Representative

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for obtaining current and accurate demographics and insurance information to register patients, verify insurance benefits, and negotiate patient financial responsibilities. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct patient interviews to obtain demographic and financial data for registration, insurance verification, and billing.
Verify patient eligibility for insurance coverage and appropriate benefit levels for anticipated services.
Calculate and collect patient liability due according to financial clearance policies related to existing and/or bad debt accounts.
Establish patient liability and advise patients of deposit requirements per policy.
Negotiate payment arrangements with patients where necessary per policy.
Requirements
2 years of healthcare or customer service experience or education equivalency required.
Proven ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a highly stressful and emotional environment.
Excellent data entry, numeric, typing, and computer navigational skills.
Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office.
