Position Overview:

The IT Consultant – Exchange/O365 Administrator is responsible for the management, oversight, and maintenance of the Exchange environment, which supports a diverse user base exceeding 15,000 individuals.

Role Significance:

The Exchange/O365 environment is vital for the seamless operations across the organization, and the Exchange Administrator plays a key role in both the upkeep of this environment and its strategic future planning.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee daily operations of Microsoft Exchange and its supporting infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud via M365.
2. Address escalations related to customer or team incidents.
3. Contribute to the design and implementation of the future Exchange environment.
4. Generate necessary system reports, including audits and performance metrics.
5. Provide resolution for issues, conduct root cause analysis, and maintain documentation for all messaging-related challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:

- A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred, ideally in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in a role such as Exchange Administrator or similar.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server.
- Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Azure.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
- Understanding of email security standards and practices.
- Knowledge of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls.
- Direct experience with at least one ticketing system (e.g., Service Now, Remedy).
- Awareness of business operations and best-in-class technology landscapes.
- Experience in monitoring end-user hardware for vulnerabilities and compliance.

Required Skills:

- Ability to manage and maintain Microsoft Exchange servers and related infrastructure effectively.
- Proficient in troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange issues collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Conduct regular system monitoring and verify the completion of scheduled tasks.
- Provide tier 2 and 3 support for Exchange and messaging-related issues.
- Assist users with email configuration and access troubleshooting.
- Maintain user accounts, distribution groups, resources, and permissions.
- Implement and manage email security protocols.
- Strong communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-location, cross-functional environment.
- Excellent multitasking and time management skills in a fast-paced setting.
- Readiness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation when necessary.
