The San Diego office of SmithGroup is currently seeking an Entry Level Fire Protection Engineer.
In this role, you will:
- Execute assigned engineering tasks and document modifications to engineering drawings as directed.
- Support internal teams in evaluating and designing fire protection and alarm systems for diverse project types.
- Assist project teams in conducting building and life safety code analyses for both new and existing structures.
- Help generate life safety drawings and narratives for various projects.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on project-related tasks.
- Apply and interpret National Building and Fire Codes and Standards relevant to specific projects.
- Conduct building condition assessments and code compliance surveys for existing structures under direct supervision.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A bachelor's degree in Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Fire Protection Engineering, or a degree from a Fire Science program.
- Familiarity with REVIT MEP software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
SmithGroup offers a competitive compensation and benefits package tailored to meet the diverse needs of our staff. The anticipated salary range for this position is $71,000 to $85,000 annually. Additionally, employees in this role are eligible for a performance-based bonus each year.
