Food Services Manager in Training

Job Summary:

Yona Northstar is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dining Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our food services department, you will be responsible for leading quality dining programs that enhance the meal experience for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Food Services Director in developing and implementing dining programs that meet federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Work with the Food Services Director to ensure the dining programs are cost-effective and meet the needs of our residents.
  • Train and supervise staff members in procedures and proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Supervise and evaluate the quality of work completed by department employees.
  • Plan work and staffing schedules to ensure adequate services are rendered.
  • Maintain required records, including inventory, compliance, income/expense, and personnel records.
  • Manage a cost-effective program to budget.
  • Maintain excellent relations with residents, visitors, and all community departments.
  • Actively participate in facility meetings and committees.
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures.
  • Promote the professional growth and development of the entire departmental team.
  • Conduct quality assurance rounds and inspections to ensure current quality controls and methodologies are suitable and sustainable.
  • Report monthly initiatives, goals, and accomplishments.
  • Promote and monitor resident satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Associate's or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality, including a course of study in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Food service supervisory experience required; at least two years experience in long term care preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification for Managers, National Restaurant Association.
  • Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP), per the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers, the credentialing agency of the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP).

  • Skilled in motivating and supervising staff members.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, and quality attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
  • Public speaking skills.
  • Excellent stress management skills, administrative, and organizational, and follow-through (with associates and clients) skills required.
  • Ability to work all shifts as needed.
  • Proficient in the use of Windows-based office software, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
