Purchasing Manager/Inventory Control Job Summary

Harborview Medical Center, a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine, has an outstanding opportunity for a Purchasing Manager/Inventory Control professional.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchase food and supplies for all department areas, sourcing new products and placing equipment orders, maintaining relationships with vendors, obtaining quotes and following up on purchasing issues.
  • Oversight of cold, dry and non-edible wares and chemical inventory for department, including par tracking, stocking workflow, applying Lean principles for sustainability and waste minimization, and safety & cleanliness of storage areas.
  • Hiring and human resources. Responsible for hiring and scheduling of stockroom team of supervisor and stockroom attendants, including approval of leave requests, schedule maintenance within Kronos, human resource activities, and arranging coverage and training for all team members.
  • Data tracking for department finance, sustainability and safety metrics related to purchased products and services.
  • Quality improvement. Development and oversight of initiatives related to purchasing and storeroom workflow addressing safety, quality and process improvement
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's and 2-3 years of direct purchasing experience
