Job Title: Continuous Improvement Engineer

Reports To: Leader of the Kaizen Promotion Office

Position Overview:

This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement initiatives through the facilitation of kaizen workshops, fostering engagement across the workforce to implement and sustain efficient one-piece flowlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate kaizen workshops effectively.
  • Employ Kaizen methodologies to enhance manufacturing processes and flow lines.
  • Conduct research to identify and apply appropriately sized solutions for quality and process enhancements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to innovate and modify machinery or devices while adhering to safety standards.
  • Support the Pursuit Tiered Review Process.
  • Interpret and read basic blueprints.
  • Exhibit fundamental design and fabrication capabilities.
  • Provide inventive and practical solutions in a hands-on manner.
  • Collaborate with various organizational levels, including Operators, Engineers, and Quality Assurance teams.
  • Engage in diverse roles across the company as required.
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn and mentor colleagues.
  • Travel to various Pursuit locations to lead kaizen workshops.
  • Act as a substitute for the Site KPO leader when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, manufacturing engineering, or quality engineering.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and adaptability.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing and Operations.
  • A genuine passion for Kaizen, embodying a servant leadership approach.
  • Understanding of mechanical components and machine design principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Work Environment:

Primarily situated in a shop floor environment.

Additional Insights:

  • Experience and knowledge in Kaizen practices are preferred.
  • Familiarity with aerospace component manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and coatings, is advantageous but not mandatory.
