Bar Counsel Position at State Bar of Arizona

About the Role
The State Bar of Arizona is seeking a highly skilled and experienced attorney to fill the position of Bar Counsel. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in upholding the integrity of the legal profession and protecting the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the State Bar in discipline, disability, reinstatement, and unauthorized practice of law matters
- Conduct investigations, draft and file pleadings, and conduct hearings before the Presiding Disciplinary Judge, Hearing Panels, and in Superior Court as necessary
- Prepare proposed findings of fact, conclusions of law, and recommendations for trial, as well as pleadings, motions, and responses in disciplinary proceedings
- Make appearances before the Attorney Discipline Probable Cause Committee and the Supreme Court, and draft appellate briefs and special actions
- Conduct all aspects of investigation and discipline of Legal Paraprofessionals and Alternative Business Structures in accordance with the rules
Requirements
- J.D. required, with a minimum of five (5) years successful practical legal experience, including litigation/trial experience
- Active member in good standing of the State Bar of Arizona
- Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret policies, procedures, and regulations
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations, with demonstrated professionalism
