Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Attorney to serve as a Special Litigation Counsel. Under the supervision of the Agency's General Counsel, the Special Litigation Counsel will provide expert legal advice, support, and research assistance on complex litigation matters. This role requires a strong legal acumen and the ability to manage relationships with various stakeholders, including the Governor's Office, the Attorney General's Office, and outside firms working on current and pending litigation affecting the agency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the General Counsel with responding to other divisions in providing information and/or legal advice
  • Conduct legal research and provide support in drafting and revising Department Orders
  • Provide support and active participation in ADCRR litigation matters, including Attorney conferences, mediation, and settlement conferences, court hearings, and trial
  • Stay current with legal knowledge and ensure responses are legally complete, accurate, and procedurally appropriate
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited Law School
  • License to practice law in the State of Arizona
  • Experience with Appellate Litigation and civil litigation and civil case management
