Position: School Psychologist - Main Campus 4th-12th Grades

Arizona Autism Charter Schools, Inc. is dedicated to providing exceptional educational services tailored to students with autism. We are currently seeking a qualified School Psychologist to spearhead the development and execution of a comprehensive special education evaluation framework.

The School Psychologist will play a pivotal role in the Special Education leadership team, ensuring adherence to compliance standards, enhancing programming, and fostering parent engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments in cognitive, achievement, social/emotional, adaptive, and autism spectrum areas.
  • Analyze and interpret student data to recommend suitable services across both regular and special education programs.
  • Communicate individual test results and recommendations to parents regarding potential special education placements.
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and specialists to optimize educational outcomes based on diagnostic findings.
  • Establish a mentorship program aimed at promoting students' social-emotional growth.
  • Advise parents on their children's learning capabilities, achievement metrics, and behavioral adjustments, while suggesting additional professional resources.
  • Provide insights based on psychological assessments for decisions related to student placement, including exemptions and accelerations.
  • Prepare and present special education data as required.
  • Participate in the review of incoming student records to ensure compliance with educational standards.
  • Attend IEP meetings as the Local Education Agency (LEA) representative when necessary.
  • Oversee the Child Find Process to align with state educational guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of the school's special education census.
  • Stay updated on advancements in school psychology, educational methodologies, and special education legislation.
  • Design and deliver professional development sessions for staff to enhance their understanding and skills.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Arizona School Psychologist certificate and license.
  • Holding a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.
  • Preferred experience as a teacher or school counselor, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates relevant knowledge and skills.
