EDUCATION and CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) from an accredited institution
- A valid and current Arizona Teaching Certificate
- Valid Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance card.
- Special Education Certification/Endorsement K-12
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer developmental assessments and subject-specific evaluations to gauge student competency and create individualized learning plans.
- Provide first aid and assistance to medically fragile students under supervision, ensuring appropriate care.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress, expectations, and methods for improvement.
- Assess student progress towards objectives, providing feedback to students, parents, and administration.- Collaborate with instructional staff, parents, and community resources to enhance student outcomes and achieve classroom objectives.
- Counsel students to improve performance, health, and problem-solving skills.- Implement engaging pedagogical approaches to deliver effective programs tailored to individual student needs.
- Differentiate classroom work to provide instructional materials that cater to personalized learning plans.
- Direct assistant teachers, student teachers, and volunteers to ensure an effective classroom environment.
- Instruct students to enhance their academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills through a structured curriculum.
- Maintain confidential and non-confidential records in compliance with administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
- Manage student behavior to create a safe and optimal learning environment.- Monitor students in various educational settings to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
- Order necessary supplies and equipment to support classroom needs.
- Participate in meetings (e.g., IEPs, staff) to convey and gather essential information.
- Engage in Professional Learning Community (PLC) teams to review data and instructional practices.
- Prepare various written materials (e.g., attendance, IEPs) to document student progress and meet mandated requirements.
- Report health and safety concerns to the appropriate authorities to maintain a safe learning environment.
- Respond to emergencies to address immediate safety issues and direct to appropriate personnel.
- Address inquiries from various sources to resolve issues and provide information.
- Serve as case manager for special education students, managing IEPs in accordance with established guidelines.
- Support classroom teachers in implementing the established curriculum and individual student plans.
