Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Furnace Technician Trainee to join our operations. This role is essential in our facility, where you will gain hands-on experience in furnace technology.

As a Furnace Technician, you will play a crucial role in a skilled team responsible for conducting various furnace evaluations, including temperature uniformity assessments, system accuracy checks, calibrations, and repair tasks.

A successful candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, effective troubleshooting skills, and a keen eye for identifying opportunities to improve production efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards. Safety in the workplace is paramount, and our Furnace Technicians are key to ensuring safe operations and processes.

New hires will be expected to work on a shift rotation during the initial training period.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform adjustments, repairs, and maintenance on furnaces, including thermocouple connections, calibrations, and certifications.
  • Conduct maintenance and calibration on various heating equipment, such as die heaters, ovens, and furnaces.
  • Execute adjustments and repairs on combustion systems and associated equipment, including blowers, fans, and valves.
  • Light furnaces and ensure proper adjustments for uniform heating.
  • Engage in troubleshooting and repair of controllers, indicators, and various electrical components.
  • Assist with fume scrubbers and other related tasks within the facility.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • 1+ year of experience in manufacturing or military service
  • Aptitude test completion is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in heat treatment processes
  • Familiarity with technical equipment
  • Knowledge of heat treatment principles
