Position Overview

We are actively looking for a Furnace Technician Trainee to join our team at our facility.

As a Furnace Technician, you will play a crucial role in a dynamic team responsible for conducting various furnace evaluations, including temperature uniformity assessments, system accuracy testing, calibration, and repair of furnace systems.

A successful candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on troubleshooting, identifying corrective measures, and discovering opportunities to improve production efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards. Safety in the workplace is a fundamental value, and Furnace Technicians are essential to our safe operational practices.

New hires must be prepared to work on a shift rotation during the initial year of training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform necessary adjustments, repairs, and maintenance on furnaces, including thermocouple connections, calibrations, and certification processes.
  • Conduct calibration and maintenance on various heating equipment such as die heaters, ovens, and baths.
  • Execute adjustments, calibrations, and repairs on combustion apparatus and associated equipment, including blowers, fans, piping, valves, regulators, and burners.
  • Demonstrate the ability to ignite furnaces and make precise adjustments for uniform heating.
  • Engage in bench work and troubleshooting for ongoing repairs on controllers, indicators, meters, potentiometers, and various motors and relays.
  • Assist with the operation of fume scrubbers and contribute to tasks within the facility.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing or military service
  • Ability to successfully pass an aptitude assessment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in heat treatment processes
  • Familiarity with technical equipment
  • Knowledge of heat treatment principles

  • Demonstrated work ethic
  • Experience in troubleshooting
