Position Overview

We are actively looking for a Furnace Technician Trainee to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in our operations, focusing on various furnace evaluations including temperature uniformity, system accuracy assessments, calibrations, and repairs.

The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and be adept at troubleshooting. You will be responsible for determining corrective measures and identifying opportunities to improve production efficiencies while maintaining high-quality standards. Safety in the workplace is a fundamental value, and as a Furnace Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe operations and processes.

New hires must be prepared to commit to a shift rotation during the initial year of training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform adjustments, repairs, and maintenance on furnaces, including thermocouple installations, calibrations, and certifications.
  • Conduct maintenance and calibration on various heating equipment such as die heaters, ovens, and baths.
  • Adjust and repair combustion systems and related components including blowers, fans, piping, valves, regulators, and burners.
  • Light furnaces and ensure proper adjustments for uniform heating.
  • Engage in troubleshooting and repair of controllers, indicators, meters, and various motors and relays.
  • Assist with fume scrubbers and other equipment within the facility.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • 1+ year of experience in manufacturing or military service
  • Aptitude test completion is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in heat treatment processes
  • Familiarity with technical equipment
  • Knowledge of heat treatment principles
