The Process Controller plays a vital role in overseeing and managing forging operations to ensure compliance with metallurgical standards and production specifications. This position requires flexibility to train across various shifts, including evening, night, and day shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and regulate forge shop furnaces to guarantee temperature precision and consistency according to internal and client specifications.
  • Observe and document the production of forged components requiring metallurgical oversight.
  • Report and document any deviations from established customer specifications or forge protocols to the relevant teams.
  • Utilize temperature measurement tools, such as optical and infrared pyrometers, for assessing stock, forgings, furnaces, and tooling.
  • Suggest modifications to Forging Instructions or Manufacturing Orders in collaboration with Forge Shop Management and Engineering teams.
  • Conduct analytical tasks, including reviewing heating durations, downtime assessments, and other production-related inquiries.
  • Stay updated on metallurgical advancements that may impact forging quality by collaborating closely with Metallurgical and Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Support safety and quality initiatives within ATI Forged Products, ensuring adherence to safe work practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Fundamental reading, mathematical, and measurement skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree in Metallurgy is advantageous.
  • Prior experience with heavy manufacturing machinery is preferred.

  • Strong mathematical abilities for necessary calculations.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn and develop within the role.
