The University Cancer & Blood Center is seeking a dedicated Financial Patient Advocate to join our team. This role is structured for full-time engagement, operating within standard business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various pharmaceutical assistance and reimbursement initiatives to secure necessary support for patients.
- Engage with patients to discuss outstanding balances, establish payment arrangements, and explore available financial resources.
- Manage the processing of monthly billing statements and address patient inquiries related to their account balances.
- Facilitate the collection of outstanding debts owed by patients.
- Oversee the processing of monthly refunds as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Prior experience in billing or financial services is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to assist patients, including the ability to navigate challenging conversations regarding financial obligations.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
