Agency Overview

The Defense Health Agency (DHA) functions as a collaborative Combat Support Agency, facilitating the Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services in maintaining a medically prepared force and a ready medical force for Combatant Commands during both peacetime and wartime. The DHA is dedicated to improving the provision of integrated, cost-effective, and high-quality health services, supporting Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries while driving the integration of clinical and operational processes throughout the MHS. The agency plays a crucial role in ensuring that military personnel and their families receive comprehensive healthcare, thereby sustaining operational readiness and overall health protection for the force.

Position Summary

Pantheon is in search of several Deputy Project Managers for a significant DHA Innovation Program, reporting directly to a Senior Project Manager. Each Deputy will oversee specific workstreams, ensuring the successful execution of technology and innovation initiatives. This position requires coordination with team members, management of tasks and timelines, and assurance of high-quality deliverables within their designated workstreams. Candidates should possess a keen attention to detail and familiarity with government deliverables, budget management, customer expectation oversight, and project timelines. A successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with government clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly report to the Senior Project Manager and manage assigned workstreams within the project.
  • Create and execute detailed workstream plans, encompassing scope, timelines, budgets, and resource distribution.
  • Coordinate and oversee workstream activities to guarantee timely task and milestone completion.
  • Conduct regular meetings with workstream team members to monitor progress and resolve issues.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and challenges specific to each workstream.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, standards, and policies within the workstream.
  • Prepare and deliver workstream status reports, updates, and recommendations to the Senior Project Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Encourage a collaborative and efficient working environment within the workstream team.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement and innovation within the workstream.
  • Assist the Senior Project Manager in overall project execution and coordination.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management or a similar role, particularly in technology integration and innovation.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams and project components.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft, Atlassian, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems and technology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification.
  • Familiarity with the DoD, Military Health System (MHS), and the DHA is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and the systems development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in technology innovation and implementation within healthcare environments.
  • Understanding of relevant standards and regulations, such as HIPAA and FDA guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of industry trends and advancements.
  • Familiarity with advanced technologies and innovative solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with AI/ML is a plus.
  • Knowledge or certification in AWS (Amazon Web Services) and/or Microsoft Azure is advantageous.
  • Active DoD CAC or Active DoD Clearance.

Compensation Overview

The salary range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
