Project Accounting Manager at HITT Contracting

Position Overview:

The Project Accounting Manager will lead a dedicated team responsible for the financial management of our business unit. Reporting to the Director of Project Accounting, this role entails overseeing revenue and profit analysis, forecasting, cash flow management, and risk assessment, while ensuring the overall effectiveness of the project accounting teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guarantee precise financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and internal controls, focusing on revenue, profit, and cash flow
  • Prepare, disseminate, and maintain financial reports related to projects
  • Analyze and present financial data at the business unit level
  • Continuously evaluate and improve systems and manual processes associated with project accounting
  • Understand and enhance internal controls, recommending necessary adjustments to policies and procedures
  • Uphold Project Accounting and Company Policies and Procedures
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal audits, collaborating with auditors as required
  • Alert the Director and senior management of any potential risks
  • Maintain a proactive approach to departmental workload and capacity, making staffing recommendations as needed
  • Provide training and support to Accounting Associates and Senior Associates
  • Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business with substantial accounting experience preferred
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of accounting experience
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems and analytical tools (BI)
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAP
  • Proven ability to manage projects from initiation to completion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking
  • Ability to lead and mentor team members effectively
  • Drive for change, efficiency, and team morale
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships
  • Capability to lift boxes weighing up to 30 pounds
