Job Overview

The Personal Lines Producer at Herndon Family Agency - Farm Bureau Insurance Agency plays a crucial role in nurturing and enhancing profitable relationships with personal line clients while expanding the business portfolio through new client acquisitions.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify, assess, and cultivate personal insurance opportunities with both new and existing clients through various communication channels including in-person meetings, online interactions, phone calls, and written correspondence.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with clients and prospects through consistent follow-ups, precise and timely quotations, and comprehensive account support. Proactively address and respond to all client needs.
  • Engage in proactive prospecting for new accounts and seek opportunities to enhance coverage for existing clients, including re-engagement of previous clients.
  • Secure optimal coverage and rates for clients, process insurance quotes, and finalize coverage agreements; follow up with necessary documentation such as inspections and photographs. Educate clients on their policies, coverages, and rates.
  • Support clients through the renewal process and retention strategies while maintaining robust client relationships.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance metrics to ensure sales objectives are met, and document sales activities in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with team members, mentor junior staff, provide expert guidance, and participate in both formal and informal meetings as required.
  • Maintain continuing education and stay updated on industry trends, new product offerings, regulations, coverages, and technological advancements to enhance knowledge and performance.

Qualifications:
  • Possess the necessary insurance license as mandated by Michigan, along with a minimum of two years of experience in personal and commercial lines insurance account management, or hold a Bachelor's Degree with relevant work experience.
  • Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of insurance products, rating and underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry practices to effectively acquire new business and manage an existing client portfolio.
  • Demonstrate a successful track record in business-to-business sales, with strong presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills capable of closing sales effectively.
  • Be customer-oriented, personable, and assertive in developing new client relationships and servicing current clients.
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills, capable of completing complex tasks independently, with sound business judgment, strong decision-making abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exhibit outstanding time management skills, thrive in a collaborative environment, and possess proficiency in technology and computer systems, including agency management software.
