The estimated annual salary for this role is $80,000 - $110,000.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our multifamily property management and real estate portfolios. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of accounting principles, property management, and real estate finance. This role requires collaboration with property managers, the asset manager, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

This position involves preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable processes, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Additionally, the successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial reports.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to management.
  • Evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Collaborate with property managers and the asset manager on financial matters.
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • E-file Vendor 1099's for properties.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in accounting preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in property accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate accounting principles.
  • Excel experience required.
  • Property software and QuickBooks online experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with property tax regulations and compliance.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and audit processes.
  • Experience with financial closings, statement preparation, and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of cash flow management.
