Position Overview

Mammography Technologist opportunity available at MDPerm, focusing on delivering high-quality imaging services.

The Women's Imaging Center is equipped with advanced facilities, including multiple mammography and ultrasound rooms, dedicated to providing exceptional care to female patients.

Qualifications
  • Valid certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Mammography Technologist.
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in mammography.
  • At least six months of recent experience in breast sonography.
  • Current Medical Radiological Technologist license in Texas (can be obtained post-hire with proof of application).
  • Documentation of 15 hours of continuing medical education (CME) in mammography/breast imaging within the last three years.
  • Proof of 8 hours of CME specific to Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) within the last three years.
  • BLS certification from a recognized organization.
  • Must be a US citizen.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine and diagnostic mammography exams, breast ultrasounds, and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of breast diseases to ensure effective imaging.
  • Assist Radiologists with procedures such as needle localizations and biopsies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to correlate diagnoses and examinations.
  • Review patient medications and conditions to determine necessary preparations.
  • Communicate procedures clearly to patients during scheduling.
  • Position patients accurately for examinations and make necessary technical adjustments.
  • Identify abnormalities and determine the need for additional imaging views.
  • Process digital images and submit them for Radiologist interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all procedures in compliance with policies.
  • Monitor and report any symptoms impacting patient conditions to Radiologists.
  • Implement emergency measures when required.
  • Perform system calibrations and quality control tasks as per guidelines.
  • Recognize equipment errors and report them appropriately.
  • Conduct all mammography quality control tests in line with established standards.
  • Initiate repair requests for equipment malfunctions.
Work Schedule

Typical hours include Monday to Friday with potential shifts ranging from early morning to evening, including Saturdays as needed. Employees may rotate schedules and are required to work on Federal holidays occasionally.
