Position Overview

The Product Owner plays a crucial role in steering the product backlog, gaining insights into customer needs and market trends to deliver top-tier software solutions. This involves meticulous documentation, analysis, prioritization, and consensus on requirements for the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Convert product roadmap into actionable features.
  • Engage in daily Scrum ceremonies, facilitating refinement sessions, and collaborating with the implementation team.
  • Oversee the product backlog, prioritize features, and develop comprehensive user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team. Ensure that business priorities are translated into technical specifications and actively participate to meet business objectives.
  • Conduct functional and operational analyses to pinpoint essential system requirements and dependencies.
  • Define the system of interest, including its boundaries, inputs, and outputs.
  • Draft and review requirements while maintaining them across our requirement systems.
  • Lead discussions on scope and drive the requirements elicitation process, transforming user and business needs into well-documented specifications suitable for product development.
  • Contribute to and establish corporate procedures related to requirement management and systems engineering.
  • Help define best practices for all system and requirements engineering challenges.

Required Competencies

  • Proficient in developing and documenting complex products and systems.
  • Strong understanding of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures in product development.
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically.
  • Effective communication skills across departments.
  • Experience in crafting detailed reports and delivering presentations.
  • Capability to influence stakeholders and collaborate closely to determine team requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • In-depth technical knowledge of requirements methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, product development, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years in a project delivery role.
  • Experience in agile development methodologies, preferably SAFe.
  • Background in the medical device sector is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and business processes in the medical device industry or other regulated sectors.
