Position Overview

As a Senior Judicial Officer, you will be responsible for supervising the proceedings of hearings and establishing factual findings and legal conclusions in cases concerning breaches of criminal statutes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage magistrates and judicial matters requiring intervention before case resolution.
  • Oversee magistrates conducting hearings and trials, including jury proceedings.
  • Evaluate evidence and enforce the submission of pertinent documentation, including records and written materials.
  • Make determinations regarding the admissibility of evidence.
  • Supervise the issuance of subpoenas and orders for witness appearances.
  • Conduct witness examinations and administer oaths for hearings and trials.

In addition, you will perform necessary actions and implement appropriate measures to ensure the effective execution of duties assigned to the magistrate.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Must possess a Juris Doctorate and be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, along with a minimum of 7 years of legal practice experience.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

Ability to operate independently and exercise authority as required.

Work Environment:

Standard office setting.
