Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team at United Hospital Center. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive the best possible nutrition care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the nutritional status of hospital patients and develop personalized nutrition plans to meet their needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure that patients receive appropriate nutrition interventions.
  • Approve definitions of modified diets and patient menus as prescribed by the Medical Staff for patients with therapeutic diet needs.
  • Provide education and instructions to patients and their families on therapeutic diets.
  • Document patient information and nutrition assessments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Attend meetings and conferences as required to maintain accreditation of hospital programs and foster partnerships with other facilities.
Requirements
  • Registration Eligible with the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.
  • Provisionally licensure through the West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians required at hire.
  • Earn an average of 10 CEU's per year.
  • Completion of a dietetic internship preferred.
Working Environment

The majority of work is performed in patient care units, with some office, classroom, and meeting room work. Occasional community speaking may be required.

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Concentrated mental activity to organize work.
  • Ability to respond to changes in work volume throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work Saturdays and some holidays.
