Clinical Nutrition Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nutrition Manager to join our team at United Hospital Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the inpatient dietitian staff, outpatient dietitians, and dietitian assistants. This role requires a strong background in nutrition and dietetics, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with The Joint Commission.
  • Maintain effective communication with medical, nursing, and administrative personnel regarding patient nutritional care.
  • Evaluate staff productivity and make recommendations for staffing adjustments as needed.
  • Hire, evaluate, direct, coordinate, and supervise clinical dietitians.
  • Ensure implementation of clinical activities such as nutrition assessments, screening, nutrition care plans, and patient education and counseling.
  • Coordinate quality improvement activities to monitor and evaluate clinical activities and take appropriate action to improve care.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics and Master's degree in nutrition or related field.
  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed with the state of WV prior to starting position.
  • Five years of experience in clinical and/or management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Membership with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
  • Leadership roles held within the state dietetic association.
