Key Responsibilities:
This role encompasses a variety of Human Resource Generalist functions at Berry Global, Inc. The ideal candidate will support organizational initiatives across all HR areas, including but not limited to employee relations, organizational development, communication, payroll, benefits administration, training, and staffing.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to deliver proactive HR support and execute business initiatives, including staffing, compensation, training, and employee relations.
- Enhance employee and manager performance by identifying improvement opportunities and implementing effective solutions.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and high retention rates.
- Compile and analyze data to prepare comprehensive reports.
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of information within HR and Payroll systems.
- Manage leave of absence requests and monitor attendance.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated on HR best practices.
- Utilize various HR software systems for efficient operations.
- Conduct and summarize employee investigations as necessary.
- Assist in organizational development and expansion efforts.
- Oversee employee communication systems to enhance information flow.
- Coordinate with staffing agencies to fulfill recruitment needs.
- Facilitate employee transfers for career advancement opportunities.
- Promote employee engagement through various initiatives and metrics.
- Process payroll and manage employee withholdings on a bi-weekly basis.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to retention and attrition, providing insights for improvement.
- Research and recommend enhancements to HR processes for greater efficiency.
- Assist with unemployment claims and workers' compensation management.
- Support site initiatives to foster an engaged workforce.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or three to five years of relevant HR experience preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with a track record of managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
- Proven skills in performance management and conflict resolution.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- High level of confidentiality is essential.
- Prior payroll processing experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Experience with talent acquisition systems is necessary.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments and their operational demands is a plus.
