JOB SUMMARY:
This role involves outside sales responsibilities aimed at promoting the company's offerings and fostering relationships with both new and existing clients. The primary objective is to assist Sysco customers in achieving success while meeting the sales and profit targets set by the organization. This position may require flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate customer needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generate new business, deepen existing relationships, and minimize customer attrition to drive profitable sales growth within the designated territory.
- Identify and qualify potential clients in alignment with company account stratification objectives.
- Analyze customer business requirements and tailor a combination of products and services to fulfill those needs.
- Stay informed about market trends and suggest products to clients based on their business objectives.
- Provide customers with information regarding products, pricing, availability, and usage.
- Offer product knowledge and practical training to client personnel.
- Travel to customer locations, industry events, and company meetings as necessary.
- Manage accounts receivable as needed, collaborating with the credit department to ensure timely collections.
- Oversee delivery schedules and address any issues that arise during the order process.
- Participate in company events, promotions, customer visits, and training sessions.
- Assist in onboarding new employees as requested.
- Review and interpret daily and weekly reports related to sales performance and customer requests.
- Perform administrative tasks such as preparing sales budgets, maintaining records, processing credits, and filing reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field OR a High School Diploma/GED with three years of relevant experience in Restaurant Management, B2B sales, or outside sales, including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency
- Experience in Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, or as a Chef
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Current automobile insurance with specified liability limits
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment testing (Drug Screen, Background Check)
- Ability to reside or relocate within the designated territory.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office
- Strong communication skills in English
