Job Description

Role Summary

The Mathematics Instructional Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the development of culturally responsive learning environments in mathematics education. This position will work closely with teachers and administrators to design and implement instructional strategies that promote equity and excellence in mathematics education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement culturally responsive mathematics instruction
  • Provide coaching and support to teachers on effective instructional strategies and assessment practices
  • Develop and maintain a collection of professional and reading/learning materials related to mathematics and culturally responsive teaching practices
  • Participate in district-level inservice meetings and assist in the coordination of district-level inservice offerings
  • Provide staff development for teachers, volunteers, parents, paraprofessionals, administrators, and other appropriate personnel as needed

Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree with valid elementary education certification from RIDE or the ability to obtain.
