About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our emergency department, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our team of board-certified specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage and prioritize incoming patients to ensure timely and effective care
  • Stabilize patients in critical condition and provide life-saving interventions as needed
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures, including laboratory tests and imaging studies
  • Administer medications and fluids, and provide wound care and post-surgical support
  • Monitor vital signs and report abnormalities to the veterinary team
  • Assist during surgeries and emergency procedures, and provide support to the surgical team
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing clear and compassionate updates on their pet's condition
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring seamless communication between team members
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to strict infection control protocols
  • Educate pet owners on aftercare and provide guidance on post-operative care
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and best practices through ongoing education and training
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry, with a focus on emergency medicine
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff and clients
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations with accuracy and precision
  • California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) required; valid CA-RVT license preferred
