We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our emergency department, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our team of experienced veterinarians.
Key Responsibilities- Triage and prioritize incoming patients to ensure timely and effective treatment
- Stabilize patients in critical condition and provide life-saving interventions as needed
- Assist with diagnostic procedures, including laboratory tests and imaging studies
- Administer medications and fluids, and provide wound care and post-surgical support
- Monitor vital signs and report abnormalities to the veterinary team
- Assist during surgeries and emergency procedures, and maintain a safe and clean environment
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing clear and compassionate updates on their pet's condition
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, and stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and advancements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- 2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry, with a focus on emergency medicine
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, clients, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations with accuracy and attention to detail
- California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) required; valid CA-RVT license preferred
