Mission Planning Engineer Position

BlackSky is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Mission Planning Engineering team. This integrated product team works to develop and maintain optimal, automated autonomous operations for the BlackSky constellation.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in software system design and architecture, data structures, efficient data storage and retrieval, software performance and scaling, and efficient maintainable algorithm implementation. They should also have experience with production-level systems at scale.
Responsibilities include developing and tracking requirements, schedules, and technical implementation for a wide variety of mission planning products and seeing them through to operation on orbit. Production code development in Python and Go, as well as internal tooling development for measuring KPIs, troubleshooting performance problems, and identifying and correcting inefficiencies in planning algorithms, are also key aspects of the job.
Our company offers a competitive salary range of $155,000-$175,000 per year, based on specific background and education.
