Medical AR Specialist - A Critical Role in Healthcare Revenue Cycle

Vaco Atlanta has partnered with a leading healthcare organization in the state of Georgia to fill a critical role in their medical billing and accounts receivable team.

Job Summary:

The Medical AR Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement and collection of medical claims. This is a Contract to Hire position with 100% onsite requirements, with potential for hybrid work arrangements after 6-9 months.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Medical Billing and Claims Management: Process and manage medical billing claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with insurance regulations and guidelines.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable, identifying and resolving discrepancies and denials in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues and facilitate payment collections.
  • Financial Record Keeping: Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
  • Software Utilization: Utilize medical billing software and electronic health records systems to update patient accounts and billing information.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on industry regulations, coding changes, and best practices in medical billing and accounts receivable management.
Requirements:
  • Medical Coding Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of medical ICD & CPT coding experience, preferably in a Family Practice or Clinic setting.
  • Electronic Medical Record Experience: Experience with electronic medical records systems, with eCW software highly preferred.
  • Communication and Critical Thinking Skills: Excellent communication skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team.
  • Computer Literacy: Computer literate with entry-level working knowledge of Microsoft Suites, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
